Beautiful View of Lake George

This image shows the beauty of our beautiful lake! This picture was taken in Summer 1905 from the Fort William Henry lawn.

Shepard Memorial Park Dedication

This image showcases the first ampitheater built in the Village of Lake George! This picture was taken on September 2, 1917.

The Rogues Roost

The Rogues Roost sat on the east side of Canada Street, next to Shepard Park on the south side. When the Village bought more land to expand Shepard Park, the building was moved to another location, which now houses The Lobster Pot!

Thatcher Photo Studio

This image showcases an older photo studio, located at the corner of Beach Road and Canada Street, with electric trolley tracks in the foreground. This ran until the mid 1920’s! 

Shell World

This image showcases Shell World, a business owned by the Jones Family who created Gooney Golf. The building is still present to this day, and now houses the Shoreline Boat Sales across from the Fort William Henry. 

Beach Road Shops

This image showcases several Beach Road shops with their parking areas! These buildings are still present, and are still behind the Fort William Henry but have changed to more current shops.

Please take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the New York State Election Law; the following candidate has been nominated to the office listed for the Village of Lake George Special Election to be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, upstairs at the Town Office Center, 20 Old Post Road, Lake George, NY, and that the polls will be open from 12 Noon until 9:00 pm.

March 4, 2026 Meeting Cancelled!

There will be no Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. A future meeting date will be announced when available.
